Example of decision on the principle of procedural economy: "However, the rapporteur must keep the principle of procedural economy in mind not only with regard to the parties, but also as a deputy for the panel as a whole. In this context, procedural economy outside the standardised cases of objection pursuant to Rule 19 of the Rules of Procedure does not generally require the panel to decide on issues of extensive substantive scope for the substantive decision at as part of a preliminary ruling by the panel pursuant to Rule 334 lit. h) of the Rules of Procedure, as at the substantive admissibility of requests to amend the patent in suit (Rule 263 RP) which are based on a request to amend the patent (Rule 30 RP)."
